What are your thoughts ...
Howdy. My name is Michael. I've joined you this fine day to pick your thoughts on the LS2 motor.
I confess to not having a Corvette, but I hope you will hear me out, anyway.
I've got a SSR, with the LS2 motor. Since it is a 'vette engine, I thought you all might have some ideas on it.
I'll start with the fact that for @6 years I rana supercharger on it, but finally pulled it because the truck started running too hot.
It's been running a little warm, not just off and on, but for the last 8-9 months, and even though the dealership says its perfectly normal for the engine to run @220' - 235', I'm concerned that it is running too hot.
Originally mine, and frankly, everyone else's ran and is running at 210'. It's stationary at 210', and their's don't vacillate between 215-235-210-215-235-210', constantly running up and down.
When I am driving fast, it's not the big problem, although i have had it warm up on long trips (over 4-5 hours+ of highway driving).
It mostly happens during city driving. It's got good pressure on the engine, no fumes in the coolant, it's not leaking oil or coolant. I've got a larger radiator on, better fan, and nothing blocking the air flow.
But I'm still having issues with the gauge dancing over the dash.
What's already been done
It's been flushed, a couple of times.
Gauges rebuilt, just in case the motor was bad
Tuned for fans to come on a little sooner.
(contemplating pulling the engine and installing a new one).
I'll now open the floor up for ideas and suggestions.
