Good morning. I just signed up to the corvette forums. I am a seasoned
(South Louisiana) corvette owner. My father bought me my 1st vette in
1960. She was white with turquoise interior, 2 tops, 5 speed stick, fuel
injection, with posi-traction axle. She had the small engine but when i would
race with her , Betsy that is. We'd put the larger engine. I used to belong
to the La. Region Cenla Club and Corvette Clubs. I have had 4 vettes,
the porsche, benz and so on. I now have the 2007, 2L T. Before I exit
this world. I hope my son will buy me the Z.
I am in my twilight years, but I luv to drag and when I'm on the I10,
the fellows in their lexus, porsche.. etc. cruise by me and just hover, they
think it's a young chick in the car. So, they hover. As I say to myself, dude
either drop back or move forward but you are pissin' me off with the hover.
Then I say to myself, Old woman, you shouldn't do this, then I say, Oh
what the hell! And I floor it! and shoot out! THere is nothing in the world
that is a thrill like this! Occasionally when i'm stopped for speeding, the
officers think again that its a young chick. THen they say, Oh, mam'm
however you spell it. "Do you realize how fast you were going" ? Isn't
that a little fast for a lady like you? Can you really handle the vette?
I look up and say, If you can walk and talk I can handle her, i didn't have
on my glasses, so i didn't realize i was going so fast. then the officer
says, "Well, if you promise that you will not speed like this again, I'll let you
go this time". DO you promise? Then i say, well officer, I'd luv to promise
you that, but i'd be telling a lie. If the occasion arises, I'll probably do it.
Once draggin' etc is in your system , just like coke,.... it never leaves!
