Unrestored 65 convertable

My father in law is the original owner of a 65 convertable 327 auto blue. It has never been restored it has original paint interior and 130,000 miles. He has kept up on all the mechanicals and only replaced with original parts, the car drives well and is driven up to 1000 miles a year. The paint is fair from 20 feet away but looks good driving down the road . It has typical scratches , spider webbing , and thin spots. As far as the interior the carpet is rough , seats have splits only on the lower cushion , and the door panels have typical cracks. I wanted to get people's opinion on weather I should repaint the car or leave it. I would like to at least repair the seats , door panels , and carpet. The rest of interior is really good. Does repairing the interior loose the original status? Is the car more valuable untouched? How much can you fix and still call it original? The top has been replaced at least twice does that matter?
