Squeeking noise on startup

When I started up my 2007 C6 with 25000 (kms) this spring, I could hear a definite chirping/squeeking noise that went away after engine warmed up (10 minutes). I replaced belts and noise went away on cold starts for a few days then came back. Mechanic found tensioner on pulleys was broken/loose and replaced it. Squeeking went away for a few days and came back. Brought it in again and harmonic balance was broken and replaced. Noise went away for 2 weeks and is back again?!! It does go away after 10 minutes of driving but I want it gone. Any ideas??

Pour a little bit of water on the belt during the start up period and if the noise temporarily goes away.

Let me know if it does.

This just means that the belt is glazed.

Since you had different stages of different issues with your belt drive system it is hard to nail down.

1. If you have a laser level, inspect the pulley alignments.
(If they are off you should be seeing one side of your belt chaffing.)

If the alignment is off, need to figure out what dies not align correctly.

2. Remove the belt, clean (use soapy water and a medium bristle brush) all the belt drive surfaces. Flush with water and blow dry when done.

3. Replace the belt.

You could probably clean the belt, but I would imagine your time is worth more than that belt.
