smoke from exhaust...HELP...

I have the potent toxic exhaust comimbg out of my 70.
It has a light bluish or gray color. No problems until I finished rebuilding the brake calipers from leaky seals and pitted pistons. Was on my way to fill it up and cruise for
Memorial Day weekend and boom......stalled out at intersection. Since then I have been battlung this potent exhaust, checking timing, power valve, pcv, vacuums....barely got it to idle now but at 900 rpms. Anybody experience this?? I know it could be valve seals or maybe worse....but something tells me otherwise. Coincidently, the vacuums to the left light is now malfunctioning.
It stays up. Never did it untik now.

So I drained the bowls on the carb and tightened down the front half of the manifold that was not as tight as the back half for some reason. crazy, but it's idling like a champ and no more toxic fumes. it still bothers me that I can't figure out the root cause. if anymore can provide insight I would greatly appreciate it.
