Windshield Wiper Will NOT Turn Off.
The windshield Wiper on my 1978 will NOT turn off. It tries to "park and does a slight wave of the wipers, goes back to park, the motor continues, and it does the slight lift of the wipers.
If I OPEN the ground circuit (disconnect the ground wire from the back of the motor) it stops. As a stop gap, I ran a wire with a small switch to stop the motor in the park position.
I replaced the wiper switch and the problem continues. I am told it might be the "intermittent wiper control" that is SUPPOSEDLY in the jack storage space (but is NOT). We never had intermittent wipers (working in any case).
I bought and installed supposed replacement motor(s), but they do not work. The new motors do NOT run the wipers "fast" as the old motor does, they run only a short while, then slow down and BLOW the 20 amp fuse.
The old motor runs FINE except that it does NOT turn off.
Ohms on the motors, if this helps.
I call the PINS 1, 2, and 3 starting from the ground post and going left to right
