1989 HVAC Blower Motor won't turn off

When I used the heater for about 20 minutes on a cool (but not cold) morning, the blower motor did not turn off when I turned the heater to the off position. I cycled it several times on Heat, Economy, Auto, in fact, all the setting but it never when off. Much to my chagrin, it even stayed on when I turned the vehicle off and removed the key. I had to pull to wiring plug off the fan motor to keep it from running an killing the battery.

Anyone out there have suggestions?

The BCM (Blower Control Module) is bad.
Unplug the two connectors on top of the evaporator housing. Remove some small bolts and the module lifts out.

1989 Blower Problem

Thanks for the info. Removing the BCM was my next effort, but I was waiting for advice from someone more knowledgeable that me.
