Potential Remedy for Headlight Door That Won't Close
Hi All - I recently bought a '94 Vette roadster with 21,000 miles on it. The passenger-side headlight door stopped closing (it would still open) shortly after I bought the car. After testing the motor initially by bypassing the wiring harness, and then providing power through the harness (bypassing the headlight door control module and providing power to the harness where it connects to the output side of the module), I determined that the motor is operable. Apparently, the control module is bad. Subsequently, I "stole" the output "close" signal from the driver-side motor control module output terminal by placing a jumper wire from the dark green wire to the dark blue wire, thereby sending a "close" signal to the passenger-side motor. Now both motors open and close normally. Has anyone else tried this solution in lieu of buying a new control module? Any negative issues crop up? Thanks.
