2002 Upgrades

I am about to get a 2002 Base Corvette in mint condition and have $2500 to spend on little extras on the car. What would you suggest to make my money go the farthest? Little bit about what I would prefer
-louder exhaust
-anything performance
-Care least about interior upgrades but wouldn't be apposed
-has 68k mi so maybe some new parts
-any other suggestions????

If the plugs and wires are OE, you might want to upgrade now rather than waiting for the 100,000 mile mark. The wires especially are susceptible to GM rot. The new update calls for Iridium plugs, I used AC Delco 41-110 with MSD 8mm wires. Dropped the RPM by 200 and smoothed the idle completely. Also, you may want to save some of that cash for tires when the time comes to replace them. They are pricey. Cold air intakes are popular along with S-type exhaust. More air in/out usually makes more power, not a lot but some and it sounds better.
