Bad tracking with new tires

Just wondering if someone could shed some light on my problem. I had some good tires (Falcons I think) on my C5 when I bought my 99 C5 recently. I changed the rear tires to initially a B F Goodrich and it became really bad about tracking or whatever you call walking all over the road on anything but a smooth surface. I changed to a Goodyear and they did cut down on the walking but still not as fun to drive as it was because you better be paying attention all the time or it will walk all over the road. Anyone have this experience that can offer some advice?
