I had my first Corvette, a 1961, when it was just a used car and i was just a kid looking to go fast. I paid $900.00 for it and got a paint job that cost $125.00. Man, those were the days when you could hot rod with only some change in your pockets. I sold that for $1k after owning it for a few years.
Many years, and a handful of lifetimes later, I got my 1966 Roadster. My wife was noticing my constant drooling at the sight of midyears so she made it very easy for me to get into the Corvette world again. Her only wish was that it take her breath away when she first saw it. Well, it did and still does- for both of us.
Recently, we got a garage companion for the '66- a 2003 50th Anniversary Edition 6 speed Coupe with a mere 4,700 miles on it.
I love the sight of the C2 and C5 sitting side by side. I am blessed. Life is good.
