I know this is a sometimes 'hot' topic, but I was wondering about a replacement battery for my C-5. I have a Optima Red Top in it now and it works fine, (I keep a battery tender on it) I got hurt at work and don't drive it a whole lot, maybe once every five to ten days, less in the winter. But a lot of folks dislike the Optima and recommend a Interstate or a AC Delco, both of which I don't like as if they begin to leak, the acid runs down all over the PCm and the wiring harness. The Red Top is a Gel battery and I feel safer with it but I wanted to hear from some of you as to what works good for you?

I store my vette in the winter plus I drive it very little in the summer!! Optima Red Top is all I will use in the future!! Tim c5garage

Sams batteries have an 8 year warranty (first 3 years FREE REPLACEMENT).
Had one go in 8 months (anything can fail NEW isn't GOOD) but its replacement has been there several years and starts just fine.
Half the price of optima. Did have acid leak from original Delco and had to use baking soda flush after removing battery holder and replace vacuum line which had been destroyed under the battery. Symptoms are air coming out of all vents not changing when you select different outlets.

After cleaning up a major mess caused by a battery leaking, I switched to an Optima Red Top. It's all I'll ever use.
