I have a 2007 Indy Pace Car with the 6 speed manual transmission. Intermittently it will start without stepping on the clutch.
My local dealer has checked it throughly and can't duplicate the situation or determine that anything is wrong. It has happened to me several times and other people have witnessed this anomoly.

Has anyone else experienced this condition? Or know how this can happen, Or know of a way to prevent it. Please don't tell me to just step on the clutch:rolleyes: My two year old granddaughter has been in our Infinity (also has a start button) and has activated the accessory power but the car won't start because no one is stepping on the brake pedal.

The dealer claims that it is impossible to start the engine without stepping on the clutch. MINE DOES!!!

Any ideas or assistance will be greatly appreiated. Thanks.

Thanks Tim,
Yes I know it absolutely should not do that. But since it's an intermittent situation the Seervice Manger at my local dealer says that he has to be able to duplicate the problem to be able to do anything about it.

I traded my 2005 SSR Redline 6spd for the Vette. As you probably know many people have had cronic problems with SSR's. Mine was PURFECT! I hope I didn't make a mistake.

I agree the dealer needs to replace the switch but if he can't duplicate the problem might be best from a safety stand point to go ahead and buy the switch and replace it yourself. I don't have a manual so can't tell you how but surely it's not too bad a job.
