Hi everyone,

I have a 1985 Corvette. The washer of the front passenger bolt on the targa top is broken and I don't know how or what to dissasemble to replace the thing. It is my first time owning a vette and I've only had it for a couple of weeks so I don't wanna disasseble anything i shouldn't.

Sorry for the late reply. I haven't been checking in here lately. My C4 is still in storage so I can't look at the assembly. I know that the early targas were slightly different from the later ones. I don't think you can hurt much in that area by exploring the part. I think the area you are talking about is fairly simple.

If I were you I would take it to a garage I am familiar with and ask a tech for a pointer on it. Or see if there are any corvette clubs in your area. Also search the internet for other sources of information related to the C4.

A poor answer but sometimes we owners of older corvettes need to get creative!
