My 89 Vette is not charging. I have a new battery and alternator, and the battery continues to drain. When fully charged guage is reading 11.7 and goes down until the battery is dead. The starter is drawing .4amps all the time, even when the car is not running. The parts store thinks my starter is bad. Any thoughts on this?

I ran an extra ground wire from the battery to the frame, and it didn't help.

Bad starter will make it do those things!!! Let me know what you find out!! Tim c5garage

I was hoping someone would say the starter could cause all those issues.

Thanks for responding, and I will let you know how this came out. I intend to replace the starter this weekend.
