My car has 130k miles and the tranny is starting to slip a little between 3rd and 4th gear. Is this typical of a automatic transmission going out or is there any hope of saving it by changing out the transmission filter and new fluid?

I am far from being an expert, but in my experiance your tranny is going out. Once they start slipping there is normally no help. Sorry for the bad words. Andrew
