My '88 auto convertible has the following issues and I would really appreciate some help. The car cranks over fine but most times now stumbles a few times before it starts. Just now I started it, eventually it ran until the main B4p cooling fan came on then died and wouldn't start so I left it maybe 10 minutes and it fires up like there was never a problem. Also I then noticed that the fuel average display etc. in the centre dash had been erased back to zero. Recently it has shut down on me within a 5 to 10 minutes of leaving home and has also occasionally not wanted to start when warm. Last time it wouldn't start after driving ok for about a half hour my mechanic checked it and it had spark but no pulse to the injectors.

The problem has existed before the following work has been done;
New distributer ignition modules
New fuel pump & strainer with adjustable fuel pressure regulator new fuel pump relay
Vats key pellet override and now Vats has been disconnected.

What's wrong with it ?????............

You didnt mention if you checked for engine codes? for this problem you really need to look for an error. I would even make up a aldl to computer cable and download some free software. you will be amazed at what you can find out.

I and thanks for the response, I thought I had followed up that once I replaced the ECM my problems went away. I did check for codes by crossing the A & B [I think] on the ADSL and no error codes were set. In case this happens in the future can you advise where I can download the free software from ?..
