First time Corvette owner; had 1996 C4 LT4 for about a month. Have not driven it but about twice until had mechanic to look it over. Needed new serpentine belt. Had work done. Mechanic has now discovered a knocking; maybe rods. I know nothing about mechanic work. Any suggestions as to what this could be? If it is a rod knocking, what are my options? Likely not good, huh? Any good Corvette mechanics in Birmingham area?:confused:

check the knock sensor the wire connector had broken on my C4. Replaced connector plugged it in and knock has never came back.gary

Thanks for your reply! It turns out the bearings and crankshaft are shot...new engine :-(

Now thats a bummer sorry I hear that. Hope you can find a good engine to replace it.:(
