We all know that the HEI system in the C4 is not perfect and also could have some problems, having said that, I (and maybe more people here) will like to know any combination of systems that have worked for you. From replacing one item at a time to using the HEI replacing system (MSD #8500). Cost is a consideration. P.S. If you have a box around the house that you will not use, my birthday just past, but I still accept gifts. :D
Spill the secrets out now....
1985 C4 TPI project car. B-day gift from Wife.
Thanks in advance to all.

My 91 L98 has original system in it. 101000 miles and works fine. I was not aware of any inherent problems.
On my 85 wtih 406CI I use a MSD 8366, 6AL, and Blaster Coil

My 89 coupe has the Accel coil, K&N and a chip and runs pretty good. I plan to do someother mods to it in the future.

I installed an MSD 6A in my 86, it was recommended to possibly help me pass the NYS emissions inspection. Did not help, ran with it for a year, did not do anything noticable to my performance or gas milage. (It did give me more radio interference on AM!) I pulled it out and gave it to my son for his mitsubishi Eclipse he is building. JMO
