I have a 97 and the passenger mirror has no physical damage, but has become floppy at the hinge point. Is this a repairable problem or wiil it require entire mirror replacement? I would rather not pull the door panel till I have an idea of what the problem may be

That mirror problem is common. There are many sites available to fix it. Do a search on some of the other sites and try it. If you don't want to get into it then send it to the guy in Ohio who fixes them for about $75. I don't have his address.
Mine has come loose 3 times until I did it right. No problems for about 2 yrs now.

The person you're looking for is named Ed Swaneck and you can locate him here (http://capitalcitycorvette.homestead.com/files/clubnews.htm) in order to get your mirror repaired for good.
