As a new first time vette owner, I have a couple of questions to get started on my 86 targa top. 1. common problem..overheating...drove it home and never once did the fan come on. 2. Probably related, however here it is..power steering fluid appeared to have boiled over on the way home. 3. I understand there is a cooling sensor that also controls idle rpms. At time, my idle climbs to 1600rpm. Any help to get me rolling is greatly appreciated!

Well, if you are going to work on your car, try to get a factory service manual for it, best money you can spent on your new car.
As for your overheating problem, start the car and turn on the AC, if the fan does not come on, then I would check out the relays for the fan, not sure where they are on an '86. Make sure the top is tight on the PS fluid resivour (sp).
