I have an 82 Corvette that I aquired from a guy that had it in the garage for about 6 years. I took it to a detailer, and everything looked great, but I noticed about a month ago that the optional aluminum wheels where "peeling". Were they clearcoated? I took it to another detailer, and he said there is nothing I can do but replace them! I find that hard to believe. Is there anything I can do to strip whatever is peeling and get them back to original condition. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks

When you say peeling I believe your speaking about the clear coat on the aluminum and yes they can be repolished and re-clear coated.Cheque around some of the local wheel places and they should send you to a good rep.
