how do remove 6speed shifter handle so i can replace with a carbine fiber

Hey guys and gals ,i just joined your terrific corvette site.I,ve owned my 1994 red zr1 for just over 10 years.caused a divorce,she got house i got the car...need to replace shifter handle with a cabon fiber handle.. how ya get the damn thing off...........6 speed
