Hello all, I just registered and have a quick question about the '92 Vettes.

Are the body panels all fiberglass? or are they steel?

and generally, how safe are these vehicles in an accident.

Thanks a lot. Quick answers would be appreciated, and it's nice to meet you all!

The body panels on a C4 are made of a high-tech composite similar to fiberglass. The actual frame is similar to most other cars. The C4 had to meet any federal safety requirements at the time just like any other car. I have had my bumpers apart and they are designed well, with a crush cushion in each one.

I hope this has helped.

The above is correct. Sometimes you hear Corvette owners refer to other cars as "metal cars." :D
