I have a '98 Conv that had the fuel gauge die 3 times today on a 200 mile trip. The check gauges light along with "low fuel" both come on but I still had over 1/2 tank of fuel. This has happened 3 times before in 3 years, now it's 3 times in one day. If I shut down, remove the key then restart, everything is back to normal. Everything else is normal and it runs just fine as long as I remove the key. If I just stop, shut it down and restart, it will go about 10 feet and stall. I must remove the key then restart. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Happens to a lot of C5s and other GM vehicles. High sulpher content screws up the senders in both gas tanks. Use Techron concentrate (now $4.99 at Advance Auto ) or Seafoam (now $6.99 at Advance Auto) in the next few tanks. Chevron and Texico gas has Techron in it but at a low concentration.
Has sensor replaced under warranty but the symptoms showed up about a year later.
