I have the opportunity to purchase a 1960 corvette and since I am a newbie would like other opinions about the car's value and future appreciation. It has a matching 283 available with the car though a 350hp engine is currently installed. The original 4spd shifts smoothly. It needs some detailing under the hood but I do not see any major issues. The body is very nice as is the paint. It has been repainted a few years ago though not in the original maroon color. A new more brilliant maroon paint was used. The hard top and convertible tops are in good shape too. Very nice to look at and all chrome is very nice except around the windshield which needs to be replated or replaced. The interior needs to be redone though seats, door panels and dash appear nice enough not to need replacement. Many of the dials and intruments will need replacement. Asking price is just under 40K. What do you think? It seems that it could be a nice car with maybe a 5-10k investment.
